Bickleigh Castle

14th Century Bickleigh Castle is set in 30 acres of the valley of the River Exe. Beautifully positioned among lush green land with woods and provides a stunning location for filming and photographic shoots. The castle is also a fabulous venue for weddings as well as offering conference facilities.

The house is at the centre of a group of buildings spanning 900 years of history. There is an 11th Century chapel, which has a 12th century doorway and a 15th century wagon roof. The 14th century gatehouse is three storeys high with a rib-vaulted passageway on the ground floor. The stone front contrasts with the cob and thatch of the 17th century farmhouse built after the restoration and containing 16th and 17th century furniture. Flanking the gatehouse is the Armoury and a Guard Room with 17th century furniture. The large chamber above has late-16th or early-17th century mullioned windows and furniture dating mostly from 17th century.

The grounds have picturesque moated gardens with a charming set of Italian gates
