Hanover House

Hanover House (formerly 4 York Terrace) is a Grade II listed Victorian townhouse in the Italian style (1848) located in the exquisite Georgian/Regency town centre of Cheltenham Spa close to the Royal Well Crescent, Cheltenham Ladies' College, The Promenade, exclusive Montpellier and Bayshill Conservancy areas, many beautifully preserved Georgian terraces and pretty parks.

The house is full of character and original features including moulded cornices, stripped floors, original marble fireplaces and shutters. There is also a very pretty Victorian walled garden to the rear opening out onto a park and the River Chelt.

Hanover House is a 5* Gold Bed and Breakfast, listed in Alastair Sawday/Wolsey Lodges and Michelin and recently featured in Channel 4's 'Three in a Bed' and 'Country House Rescue'. Formerly the home of Lady Alice Elgar and Lt Col John Shakespear (a descendant of the Bard's brother) and of 'Charge of the Light Brigade' fame.
