Kingston Grammar School

Kingston Grammar School is conveniently situated in the heart of Kingston upon Thames.

The main school site offers a range of building styles and periods, from the medieval Lovekyn Chapel, through to the 21st century Queen Elizabeth II Building, with its modern 200-seat theatre (with retractable seating, a state-of-the-art control room and a sprung dance floor), rehearsal and green room space, music school, recording studio, sixth form centre (with cafe) and classrooms arranged around an attractive courtyard.
Buildings from intervening periods include the Victorian frontage, now mostly offices, the Hall of 1927, a gymnasium built in 1937, a 1950s block used mainly for Science, with more recent additions, and a complex dating from 1990 which includes a library, seminar room, art and DT rooms and a drama studio. In all, the School buildings encapsulate the history of education in this country.
