Mylor Yacht Harbour LtdMylor lies approximately ten miles South of Truro and faces onto the Carrick Roads, a large expanse of sheltered waters which forms one of the largest natural harbours in the world. Mylor Harbour occupies the site of an early 19th Century Royal Navy Dockyard and there remain several Grade II Listed Admiralty buildings including the Stone Quay and Dockyard buildings, together with the Grade I Listed St Melorus Church which dates from the 12th Century. There is a strong sense of maritime history and activity within the intimate confines of the harbour and creek areas. A vernacular has developed which has echoed the modest Admiralty buildings over time but increasingly reflects the modern boatbuilding and maintenance that takes place all year round and results in an interesting mix.
