The Idle Rocks Hotel, St Mawes

The Idle Rocks is a highly individual, boutique-style hotel in Cornwall, with a long standing reputation for good food. The hotel's Water's Edge restaurant, with its magnificent water views, has received award recognition for more than 20 consecutive years. Each of The Idle Rocks Hotel's 27 bedrooms has been individually furnished, with an emphasis on comfort and style.

The delightful working harbour town of St Mawes sits at the tip of the Roseland Peninsular, opposite St Anthony's Head with its functioning lighthouse still protecting shipping from the notorious Mannacle Rocks. Across the water, to the West, lies the historic port of Falmouth. Much of the dramatic coastline in this beautiful area was used to film Poldark.

Within St Mawes and its immediate vicinity, there are many landmarks of interest, including St Mawes Castle (circa. Henry VIII), the beautiful Lamorran Gardens and the parish church at St Just in Roseland. The most delightful way to reach this beautiful church is to stroll around the head of the peninsula, along the coastal path.

The Roseland Peninsular provides the perfect environment for filming and The Idle Rocks Hotel provides comfortable accommodation and excellent food for film crews – all in a fantastic location.
