The Rotterdam Film Commission invites filmmakers to the Main Movie Port in Europe, an international city that is booming as a centre for film activities and offers cutting edge architecture and urban entertainment.
For more than forty years Rotterdam has been the largest harbour in the world and the epicentre of the Dutch economy. In just two decades, the city on the banks of the river Maas grew from a blue collar town to become European Cultural Capital 2001.
Government funding has fuelled the construction of spectacular bridges and skyscrapers that have mushroomed in the heart of the city.
