Seaton Delaval Hall

Seaton Delaval is universally recognised as one of John Vanbrugh's finest achievements

Described as "one of the glories of the north" it was built between 1718 and 1728 is set in superb grounds with beautifully landscaped gardens, and is a stunning example of its type

The East Wing contains cathedral like stables the grandeur of these vast stalls is one of the most impressive things about Seaton Delaval.

A little Norman Church, dating from the first half of the 12th Century is visible from the hall standing behind the garden.
