Sulgrave ManorNestling in the depths of the heart of England, away from aircraft routes and motorway drone, but only about 10 minutes from both the M1 and the M40, Sulgrave Manor has a modest Tudor stone exterior with authentically furnished Tudor/Stuart and Queen Anne rooms. It offers unusual and entrancing possibilities for filming of all sorts.Open to the public since 1921, Sulgrave Manor has none of the visible accretions of the last century, no telephone or electricity cables, no aerials. The six rooms can be dressed for a variety of purposes and periods. The Tudor Great Hall has a stone floor and authentic period furniture, while the Bedchamber above boasts a four-poster with colourful bed-hangings. The 17th century kitchen is one of the best preserved in the country with an open hearth, bread oven and an astounding range of kitchen implements including a working spit. The Oak Parlour and two bedrooms with 18th century furniture provide the more intimate atmosphere of a different age. Page 1. Click for page 2/2
