Westport House & Country Park

Built in 1730 on the ruins of a previous castle of legendary Pirate Queen Grace O’Malley – and complete with original architecture, antiques, works of art and dungeons it is home to her direct descendants: The 11th Marquess of Sligo and his family.
Over 20 original rooms are available within the House for filming purposes as well as dungeons, entrance halls, landings and staircases. Stunning architecture, unique antiques, period decor and works of art combine to afford a multitude of readymade or adaptable backdrops for an array of filming purposes for everything from period dramas to contemporary music videos.
Set in beautiful parkland setting of 500 acres on the shores of idyllic Clew Bay, Westport House also provides a plethora of opportunities for external filming.
With numerous old buildings, gardens, arched bridges, terraces, Ireland’s largest collection of old farm yard buildings, a lake, river, waterfalls and dense mature woodland.
