Whitfield Farm Cottage
Set in three quarters of an acre, in the heart of Hardy country, our cottage is believed originally to have been occupied by the lockkeeper responsible for control of the waters on the nearby river Frome, now reduced to a typical chalk stream much favoured by local fishermen, and others from afar.
A working farm for nearly two centuries, it has in recent years been converted into a family home, without losing any of the features or charm to be found in an old dwelling – a large farmhouse kitchen, equipped with an Aga, a beamed sitting room with an inglenook fireplace, and comfortable bedrooms.
In addition to a well established garden in front of the cottage, there is a paddock beyond with considerable space for parking.
