Allerton Castle

Allerton Castle is a magnificent gothic revival stately home; Grade 1 listed, and a beautifully preserved relic of the early modern aristocracy, set within open parkland in the spectacular North Yorkshire countryside.

The Great Hall walls are fully oak panelled and richly carved. The hammer beam ceiling is reminiscent of Henry VIII’s Banqueting Hall at Hampton Court, towering almost 70 feet above the floor with an angel gallery and stained glass.

The Dining Room was considered one of the finest carved rooms in England outside of the Houses of Parliament, with stained glass windows and a large carved marble fireplace.

The high vaulted ceiling in the Ballroom is created in the gothic style with high arches and fruit and flower decorations, painted white with Westminster blue walls.
